Box animation

I LOVED the lighting! and the positioning of the camera. That was a very neat video to watch. I want to be able to do something like that.

Wow... I am blown away. That is my goal. One day this will happen. Yes. Challenge accepted.

One Million Dollars...

If I had a million dollars to use to make my image as stunning as possible what would I do?

Honestly, I might edit this a ton more at a later date, but first thing I would do is make my image larger than life. I would want it to be huge. Then I would want the water wings of the right hand butterfly to be actual physical fountains. The water could cascade of rocks that were painted various shades of metallic blues to make sure that the wings are high lighted. The black and white side bar butterflies could be created using feathers or rare flowers...OR copper sculpted butterflies that have patina all on the outside so they have a soft shade rather than just being gray. The destroyed wing on the left butterfly could be created from physical trash and have a piece of a destroyed plane coming out of it. I want my piece to be 3D and have depth to it.

I will have to think a little longer...

Number 8 Entry

Very original name now isn't it? :) Well this is my assignment. I finished it about Monday of last week and I am pretty happy with it. It was difficult to create enough layers to complete the project though. I loved creating the images in the wings.

The water wing took the most time to create, but I think it turned out rather well. Initially, this is not what I had imagined in my head, but I have to come to love it. I hope you like it as well.

Parody

I thought this was a good parody for the assignment. I found his twist on the Lonely Island song very cute.

Appropriation with my Theme

This made me think of my image.

It is not the chaos theory like I am attempting to do with my butterflies, but I thought that this was still really cool. Someone has taken the time to print different logos, themes, or really anything they want onto an actual butterfly's wings using an ink jet printer. So instead of just making wings from random pictures like I am, they use actual wings and just add some more interest to them.

Sketch of End Result

My plan has changed somewhat. I want to now create an image using a couple different pieces. I want to use an image of a butterfly body, then design wings using water to represent how the theory works. Even the slightest flap of a butterfly's wings can have grand repercussions.

It is sideways, I am not sure how to rotate it, but this is the basic sketch of the idea. Hopefully it will look better than this in the end.

Themes for Appropriation

Chaos Theory:
The flap of a butterfly's wing leads to so much...even a natural disaster.

Pretty on the Outside:
Creating the image of a peacock with pictures of things symbolize the 'Go Green' effect

A Child's Hand:
Simple, but filled with so many sad things...
